So this campervan, in all of it's glory, was our home for about ten days..... WE had some ups and some definite downs along the way! The first night on the road it stalled in the middle of the road. Then a day later we ran out of gas (which Doug unknowingly used unleaded instead of diesel) and barely rolled into a pull-off on the side of the road (where we then spent 4 hours in the blistering outback heat!). Then, if things couldn't get any worse, we turned onto the road to our last resort town and the clutch went out (it may have had something to do with Doug not knowing how to drive a clutch, just a guess...). Luckily some very nice passersby towed us the 12 km into Coral Bay where we had to clear out the entire camper so it could be towed and move into a dorm room in a Backpackers hotel. Finally, on our last full day, just when we thought we were home free, we got stuck in some mud while unintentionally off roading near the Pink Lake. Again, thank goodness for a very nice guy who pulled us out with his minivan. Phew, what an adventure!! We joked that each thing that happened, we would file it under campervanmemories.com.au.
