Blood Check By Himself

 We decided to ask Ashton if he would like to do his blood test himself tonight. He was a little hesitant but did it and was proud of himself! So proud of this little guy and how he handles his diabetes. He is becoming more aware of it and asking questions about his disease. It's not fair that this has to be a part of his life or that things like dying are on his mind occasionally, but he is healthy and happy and is a normal 3 year old  that's what's important!

Winter Beach Day

 How lucky are we that we get to go to the beach, even in the winter!? The winter here really hasn't been that bad, especially compared to Indiana! It definitely was chilly with some rainy days but no snow and still lots of sunshine! It has been starting to warm up recently so we have been able to head to the beach a few times. The water is still very chilly but it feels good to be in the sun with sand between our toes!!

American Football in Australia

 American football came to Australia! Doug and a few work friends went to the Hawaii v Cal game opener that was held here. Despite running out of hot dogs AND beer (they were clearly not prepared for how serious we take our football) it was a great time!

Baby Walker

 This sweet baby boy is Walker! Denise, Patrick and Beckett welcomed him into their little family today!! We couldn't be happier for them!! Sending lots of hugs and kisses!!

Bye, Bye Grandma....

 Grandma and Pat left today.... It's always hard to say goodbye!! We, once again, had a great time while mom was here and she was such a huge help with everything!! We are so glad that Pat made the trip here and hope she had fun! Until December....

Pat at Bondi

 Our last stop on Pat's tour of Sydney was Bondi Beach. It was a chilly but beautiful day! A little lunch, a walk along the beach, some light shopping and a quick play at the playground made a perfect morning!

Pre-Birthday Celebration

 Since mom is leaving before Ashton's actual birthday, we had a little early celebration. Any excuse to celebrate this little guy and to have more cake, right?!

 It certainly makes training/working out better when you have views like this along the way!! There are so many trails and paths around Sydney. The terrain can be tough: big steep hills, stairs, beaches, rocks, bush, and not to mention the wild turkeys everywhere!

School Disco

 Huddy and Sis had their first school dance, or 'disco' as they call it here. It was hot, loud, and crazy but looked like fun! I chaperoned the whole night so I could witness it all! Sienna struggled a bit with so much going on but luckily found a few friends to hang with. Hudson, surprisingly, had a blast and was jumping and bopping to the music almost the whole time, and was sweaty in no time!
