Doug and I rang in the new year on a boat cruise in the harbor. It was simply amazing! It has to be the best New Year's we've ever had!! Watching the fireworks go off over the bridge was magical! Here's go a great 2016!!
At the park today we practiced throwing our new boomerang and testing out the kids' new cricket set they received for Christmas. How much more Aussie can we get?! Actually we just looked like a bunch of Americans trying to throw a boomerang, unsuccessfully, and trying to play cricket, probably quite a sight!! We definitely need to work on both!
We love that we are only about an hour away from these beauties! We learned on one of our visits that they call them the Blue Mountains because of the blue hue the Eucalyptus leaves give off as their oil evaporates. If you look in some of the pictures, the mountains actually look a little blue. We were feeling a little adventurous so we went out on one of the Three Sisters (the three rocks in the first picture). It was a narrow and nerve-wracking stair climb down, then a terrifying 10 foot bridge walk over the gap onto the first rock. We were all a little nervous but it was worth it! So cool!
